Good News for Alan Gould! His novel The Lakewoman has been shortlisted for the Prime Minister's Literary Award. The Lakewoman also made it to the shortlist of titles be pitched to film producers at the annual Books at MIFF (Melbourne International Film Festival) event on 23 July.

Brisbane author Simon Groth's new novel None of the Other Flies Follow My Crooked Lines has been shortlisted for the Queensland Premier's Literary Awards (Emerging Author category). The winners of all categories will be announced on 16 September.

Monica Geti's book The Year of Sunshine is on the shortlist of twelve titles to be pitched at Books at MIFF (Melbourne International Film Festival) on 24 July. This forum is now an annual event and provides an opportunity for agents and publishers to meet film producers and pitch titles that they believe will make good movies.
